PhD Sociology Position in Landscape Architecture and Urban Ecology


This PhD Sociology position is offered in the context of international cooperation projects Future Cities Laboratory (FCL), the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology Zurich (ETH Zurich) and the National University of Singapore (NUS) will run conjointly for the next 4 years. In particular, the position will be part of an interdisciplinary pilot module entitled "Landscape and Ecology", which will run under the Urban Design Stream and Natural Resources Research Strategy FCL ETH Zurich in Singapore.

The
PhD Sociology selected candidates will be registered as a student NUS / PhD FCL, but the research will be based in Singapore during the period of doctoral degrees. The team of researchers who worked on "Land of the landscape and ecology" module will be trained jointly by the Senior Researcher and Post Doctoral researcher with proven knowledge of relevant research fields. PhD Sociology students will join a research team living in Singapore, working on a complex interdisciplinary projects at the interface of landscape and ecology and computer simulation. This position will start on 10.01.2011 or thereafter flexible.

TWAS-CSIR Postgraduate Fellowship Programme Phd Sociology


Phd Sociology Applicants can apply for a PhD in their home countries, or to enroll in PhD courses at any University in India.
SANDWICH Fellowships (for those registered for a PhD in their home country): The Fellowship may be granted for a minimum period of 6 months and a maximum of 4 years.
FULL-TIME Fellowships (for those not registered for PhD):
Phd Sociology Fellowship can be awarded for an initial period to 12 months. Scholarships can then be extended for 3 years, depending on the performance of students and his / her her registration for PhD at a university in India or country of origin. Eligibility Criteria:

The Einstein Fellowship Phd Sociology


Fellowship Phd Sociology includes living accommodations for five to six months in the gardener `s cottage Einstein` s own in the summer Caputh, Brandenburg, just a short distance away from universities and academic institutions Potsdam and Berlin. PhD Sociology Student Health at VU University Amsterdam


This PhD Sociology project is a collaboration with Pieter Medendorp of the Donders Institute of the Radboud University; the neuroimaging experiments will be performed in his lab in Nijmegen.

Part of your work will be to contribute to the Faculty education program for 160 hours in the first and second year of the project.

Requirements

We are PhD Sociology looking for a highly motivated and creative candidates with a MSc in (one of) the natural sciences, human movement sciences, mechanical or biomedical engineering, psychology or related discipline. A strong mathematical background and experience in programming (e.g. MatLab) are very welcome as well as excellent writing and presentation skills in English.

Conditions of employment

PhD Sociology Studentship Mechanisms Of Therapeutic Failure


PhD Sociology Risk stratification and gradual intensification of chemotherapy in the last two decades, the survival in children with ALL, up from 50% to almost 90%. The cost of recovery is high.PhD Sociology Treatment-related toxicity and avoid further intensification of the disease recurs in 15-20% of patients. A high frequency of relapses occur within the central nervous system (CNS). The PhD Sociology mechanisms of relapse and disease of the central nervous system is unclear.

This
PhD Sociology work should be investigated potential markers of treatment failure identified by our group. The PhD Sociology implications of this research is important, the project aims to marker to relapse of the central nervous system to identify targets for new therapeutic strategies for the treatment of CNS relapse in ALL predict.

The topic of the research will be on the development of methods for on-line measurement and analysis of paper pulp properties and their connection to paper quality parameters.

We seek candidates with a MSc./Civ.ing. degree in Engineering Physics, Electrical Engineering or similar areas, preferably with a strong interest and experience in mathematics, statistics, experimental design and signal processing. Previous experience in the design of measurement systems is also valuable.
The collaborative nature of the project requires the student to be fluent in both Swedish and English, written and spoken.

Scholarship Description: The Division of Materials theory is known to have a world-class research environment in ab-initio computational research on materials properties. Besides the usage of existing state-of-the-art computational codes, a perpetual development of new methods and computational techniques is done in this department.

The Ph. D. student will work on theory of metal hydrides, both metallic multilayers and bulk systems. In addition to structural aspects and phase stability, the dynamical properties of hydrogen will be investigated by combining ab-initio theory with kinetic Monte Carlo simulations. The research task is the theory part of a cross-disciplinary project which also involves experimental physics and chemistry.

The applicant is expected to have a Masters degree in Physics, or equivalent, with a good background in solid-state physics.
