PhD Sociology Position in Landscape Architecture and Urban Ecology


This PhD Sociology position is offered in the context of international cooperation projects Future Cities Laboratory (FCL), the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology Zurich (ETH Zurich) and the National University of Singapore (NUS) will run conjointly for the next 4 years. In particular, the position will be part of an interdisciplinary pilot module entitled "Landscape and Ecology", which will run under the Urban Design Stream and Natural Resources Research Strategy FCL ETH Zurich in Singapore.

The
PhD Sociology selected candidates will be registered as a student NUS / PhD FCL, but the research will be based in Singapore during the period of doctoral degrees. The team of researchers who worked on "Land of the landscape and ecology" module will be trained jointly by the Senior Researcher and Post Doctoral researcher with proven knowledge of relevant research fields. PhD Sociology students will join a research team living in Singapore, working on a complex interdisciplinary projects at the interface of landscape and ecology and computer simulation. This position will start on 10.01.2011 or thereafter flexible.

Prior to his Masters degree in architecture or landscape architecture with demonstrated experience in large-scale topology of the landscape and urban design is required. further knowledge of environmental horticulture to the tropics would be appreciated. http://www.callforpapersinfo.com

Thus, the
PhD Sociology successful candidate to work at the interface landscape and ecology will need to have a good academic education and a strong background in landscape architecture, urban studies and design of applied ecology. The successful applicant will be highly motivated for scientific research, has a special interest in the topic and the appropriate background, has a personal initiative, feel comfortable with both team and independent work, and have good organizational skills. Very good oral and written command of English is required.

TWAS-CSIR Postgraduate Fellowship Programme Phd Sociology


Phd Sociology Applicants can apply for a PhD in their home countries, or to enroll in PhD courses at any University in India.
SANDWICH Fellowships (for those registered for a PhD in their home country): The Fellowship may be granted for a minimum period of 6 months and a maximum of 4 years.
FULL-TIME Fellowships (for those not registered for PhD):
Phd Sociology Fellowship can be awarded for an initial period to 12 months. Scholarships can then be extended for 3 years, depending on the performance of students and his / her her registration for PhD at a university in India or country of origin. CSIR will confirm any such extension Twas good and candidates.

Eligibility Criteria:
Phd Sociology Applicants for these scholarships must meet the following criteria:
-Be a maximum age of 35 years on 31 December of the application.
-Be nationals of developing countries (other than India.

The Einstein Fellowship Phd Sociology


Fellowship Phd Sociology includes living accommodations for five to six months in the gardener `s cottage Einstein` s own in the summer Caputh, Brandenburg, just a short distance away from universities and academic institutions Potsdam and Berlin. That person will receive an allowance of EUR 10,000 and reimbursement of travel expenses.
Phd Sociology Candidates must be under 35 and holds a bachelor's degree in the humanities, the social sciences, or in the natural sciences.

At the end of the fellowship period, the fellow will be expected to present his or her project in a public lecture at the Einstein Forum and at the Daimler and Benz Foundation. The Einstein Fellowship is not intended for applicants who wish to complete an academic study they have already started work on.
A Phd Sociology successful application must demonstrate the quality, originality, and feasibility of the proposed project, as well as the superior intellectual development of the applicant. It is not relevant whether the applicant has begun working toward, or currently holds, a PhD.
